 About This Workshop\n
 \n
 \n
 \n
 This workshop will examine how to create abstract compositions based 
 on modern and historic architecture. Topics covered will include shad
 ows, curves, reflections, triangles, light, texture, colour, juxtapos
 ition and rhythm. The workshop will conclude with an audio-visual pre
 sentation titled &ldquo;Tokyo Modern&rdquo;, using architectural abst
 racts.\n

 About Steve Barber\n
 \n
 \n
 \n
 Steve Barber, now retired, was the Senior Heritage Planner for the Ci
 ty of Victoria Planning & Development Department. He was the Heritage
  Planner in Victoria for 28 years and prior to that, was a Heritage P
 lanner for 8 years in Winnipeg. He received a Masters of Environmenta
 l Design in Architecture from the University of Calgary and has lectu
 red on heritage conservation at the University of Victoria, Simon Fra
 ser University and numerous conferences.\n
 \n
 Photography has been a passion since he was 21 years old. Colour, for
 m, pattern, composition and quality of light guide his work. Steve is
  an active member of the Victoria Camera Club, and has been on photo 
 tours to Venice, Morocco, Cuba and Japan with Richard Martin of Kings
 ton, Ontario. He loves to explore street photography, architecture, l
 andscapes and abstracts. Whether in London or Paris he loves explorin
 g historic architecture and urban form.\n
